Troy Polen (2015 LHP/OF) of Westchester Country Day/Carolina Rockies 18U has chosen to play college baseball for the Wasps of Emory & Henry. Polen is the 2015 Triad Athletic Conference MVP. Troy has been an outstanding two-way player for the Rockies the last couple of years. Troy helped lead Westchester to back-to-back state championships during the 2013 and 2014 season. Tamiris Palmer (2016 RHP) of Pine Forest HS/Carolina Rockies 18U has chosen to play college baseball for Chris Keic and the Eagles of Wake Tech Community College. Palmer is a hard-throwing right handed pitcher that tops out in the upper 80's. Tamiris was a consistent starter on the mound for the Rockies this fall and should compete for mound time immediately at Wake Tech. Palmer was a 2015 South Atlantic Border Battle selection. Brody Lawson (2017 RHP) of High Point Christian/Carolina Rockies 17U has chosen to play college baseball for Mark Scalf and the Seahawks of UNC-Wilmington. Lawson had a great summer and fall with the Rockies 17U. Brody has outstanding command of 3 pitches and a fastball in the upper 80's. Lawson was named to the 2015 WWBA 16U National Championship All-Tournament team this summer after an outstanding complete game win against FTB Mizuno. Josh NiFong (2017 RHP) of High Point Christian/Carolina Rockies 17U has chosen to play college baseball for Chris Pollard and the Blue Devils of Duke University. NiFong is a hard throwing right-handed pitcher that is coming off a great summer and fall seasons with the Rockies in 2015. NiFong has been 86-89mph this summer/fall and is the leader of the pitching staff at High Point Christian as well as the Carolina Rockies 17's. Paul Davenport (2016 C) of Davie HS/Carolina Rockies 18U has chosen to play college baseball for the Rams of Winston-Salem State University. Davenport is a big hitting catcher and 2015 Davie HS Most Valuable Player. Paul has been a middle of the order hitter the last couple of seasons with the Rockies. Davenport is getting to stay "home" and play in one of the best minor league baseball stadiums in the Southeast. Congratulations to Paul and his family!
Josh Chunn (2016 OF) of West Stokes HS/Carolina Rockies 18U has chosen to play college baseball for the Cavaliers of Montreat College. Chunn is an outstanding LHH with big power at the plate and should compete for playing time immediately in college. Chunn plays a great centerfield with his speed and ability to get a huge jump on the baseball. Congratulations to Josh and his family!
Corbin Watson (2016 MI) of Morehead HS/Carolina Rockies 18U has chosen to play college baseball for Coach Fleenor and the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne University. Watson has been a top of the order hitter for the Rockies over the past year. The smooth fielding shortstop can also play on the other side of the infield at second base. Watson has had a great varsity career at Morehead High School and should excel at the next level. Congratulations to Corbin and his family!
Drew Epling (2017 C) of Calvary Baptist Day School/Carolina Rockies 17U has chosen to play college baseball for Coach Black and Guilford College. Epling had a great year in 2015 with the Rockies as a middle of the order hitter with good power. Drew should be a leader at Calvary Day School next spring and should have an opportunity to start early in his career at Guilford. Congratulations to Drew and his family!
Joseph Lowder (2016 RHP) of Ashe County HS/Carolina Rockies 18U has chosen to play college baseball for the Mountain Lions of Concord University. Lowder has had an outstanding high school career as a two-time State Games of NC participant and a Pitcher MVP performance at the App State Battle of the Border Showcase. Joseph was on the Gold Medal winning Region 7 team in the 2014 State Games of NC. Joseph has been a very consistent starting pitcher for the Rockies program over the past two years. Lowder should be able to compete for significant mound time at Concord as a freshman. Congratulations to Joseph and his family!
Isaac Campbell (2016 LHP) of Davie HS/Carolina Rockies 18U has chosen to play college baseball for Coach Rusty Stroup and the Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb University. Campbell joined the Rockies in 2015 and has been a top performer in the starting rotation. Campbell chose the Bulldogs after receiving multiple offers this fall. Campbell was a 1st Team All-Conference performer in the tough Central Piedmont Conference (CPC) in 2015. Gardner-Webb expects Campbell to have an opportunity to pitch on weekends with a fastball that has been 84-88 mph this fall. Congratulations to Isaac and his family!
Brady Watts (2016 LHP) of North Surry HS/Carolina Rockies 18U has chosen to play for Jonathan Hadra and the Keydets of Virginia Military Institute (VMI). Watts has been outstanding during the past two years with the Rockies as part of a great pitching rotation. Watts threw a one-hitter for North Surry HS in the semi-finals of the NCHSAA State Tournament this year against Randleman. Watts is a two-time State Games of NC selection for Region 7 and got the save in the Gold Medal game last year. Brady was named to the 2015 WWBA All-Tournament team this summer after throwing a one-hitter against the eventual pool winner. VMI is getting one of the best 2016 LHP in NC. Ben Diamond (2016 RHP/MI) of West Forsyth HS/Carolina Rockies 18U has chosen to play college baseball for Nick Black and the Guilford College Quakers. Diamond has been in the Rockies program for the past 4 years and has been outstanding on the mound and in the middle infield. Ben will be play a major role in his senior season next spring at West Forsyth HS. Diamond should get a chance to play in the field as well pitch in his freshman year at Guilford College. Andrew Vogler (2016 MI) of Reagan HS/Carolina Rockies 18U has chosen to play college baseball for Scott Friedholm and the Bulldogs of UNC-Asheville. Vogler has been rock solid in the middle infield for the Rockies over the past two years. Andrew started getting a lot of attention playing up with the Rockies 18U last fall as their starting shortstop. Andrew had a great summer this year with the Rockies playing both positions in the middle infield and showing the consistency needed at the plate to play at the next level. Andrew will finish his career at Reagan HS in 2016 as a 3-year starter in the middle infield. Congratulation to Andrew and his family!
Zack Moore (2015 MI) of South Granville HS/Carolina Rockies has chosen to play college baseball for Louisburg College. Moore is an outstanding 2B that can really hit it from the left side. Zack is as good as any player I've seen at 2B. Zack was a key member of the 2A State Championship team this year at S.Granville HS as he was their leadoff hitter.
